Multi-Day Horse Rides
Book a weekend of unforgettable horseback riding in the Karoo, with breathtaking views along the way.
2–3 day routes ranging from 8 km to 20 km, depending on the rider’s experience and fitness.
Includes 3 meals a day, accommodation, and a morning and afternoon riding session.
Horses are provided.
Birdwatching
The farm takes in both mountainous country and open plains, giving you the best of both birding habitats. Keep your binoculars close as you walk, drive or sit on the stoep — the Karoo is home to a surprising variety of birdlife, from raptors riding the thermals above the koppies to the smaller species that make the veld their home.
Rooiheuwel is also home to an exotic bird collection, a favourite with young and old.

Karoo Korhaan | Ludwig’s Bustard | Double-banded Courser | Namaqua Sandgrouse | LBJs and larks — such as the Chat Flycatcher and Karoo Long-billed Lark.
Mountain Biking
Numerous mountain bike routes are available, varying from easy to more demanding, so you will find routes to challenge you at your fitness level. For the more adventurous rider, there are some very technical routes on offer. All routes vary in terrain and degree of difficulty.
